Data on the yearly sales of ginger of the
ginger farmers association (GFA) of kaura local government in kaduna state
Nigeria between 2002 - 2016.

The scattered plot
between the total number of registered ginger farmers and the total yearly
sales (per 40kg of bag) in the fifteen years under study is as shown below.
From the
scattered plot above it is observed that as the total number of registered
ginger farmers increases so also, the total yearly output also increase thereby
signifying the presence of some linear correlation among the variables under
study.

Hypothesis.
H0 : = 0, The population correlation
coefficient is equal to zero (there is no association).
H1 : 0, The population correlation
coefficient is not equal to zero ( there is association).
Conclusion : From the scattered plot above and
the value of the correlation p = (0.967)
0.05 as
computed above, we therefore reject H0, Hence conclude that the
population correlation coefficient is not equal to zero. So therefore the
correlation is significant at which shows that there is a strong positive
correlation between the total number of registered ginger farmers and the
yearly sales in the fifteen years under study.
Please note: The analysis carried out were done
using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS).
